The eighth convocation of Pakistan Air Force - Karachi Institute of Economics and Technology was held on March 5, 2011 at PAF Korangi Creek Campus. A total of 486 graduates were awarded degrees in the disciplines of Business Administration, Computer Science and Engineering.
Degrees awarded by the College of Management Sciences, included 147 in BBA, 185 in MBA, 5 in MS-MS, and 1 PGD in Islamic Finance. The College of Computing and Information Sciences awarded 17 degrees in BS, 29 in MCS and MBA-MIS, and 11 in MS Discipline. 68 degrees were awarded to BE Electronics students.
Tariq Wajid, Managing Director Sanofi-Aventis Pakistan Pvt Ltd was the Chief Guest of the occasion who also awarded Gold and Silver Medals to the distinguished students. The Chief Guest emphasised the importance of higher education and the significance of research and development for the progress of the country. The keynote address was delivered by Lutfullah Khan. Speaking on the occasion the Chancellor of the Institute Dr Izhar-Ul-Hasan appreciated the efforts of the students and emphasised the role of education for the development of Pakistan.
