Lahore High here Thursday dismissed as withdrawn an application seeking permission to become a party in Raymond Davis immunity case. The application was moved by Imran Haider, brother of Faizan Haider who was killed by Raymond. Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry hearing the application observed he didn't require to become a party as courts do not act merely on apprehensions.
Upon this, Imarn counsel withdrew his application. Haider had pleaded that he is an aggrieved party in the case as Davis had killed his brother. He said there is a possibility that Davis might be given immunity. Therefore, the court should also hear their viewpoint. The court will resume hearing on March 14 on a petition challenging possible grant of diplomatic immunity to Davis.
