City District Government Karachi has initiated a city-wide inspection of technical faults in the infrastructure of the metropolis, Business Recorder learnt, here on Thursday. Official sources told BR that under the directives of District Co-ordination Officer Karachi, Muhammad Hussain Saeed, technical aspect of city infrastructure would be reviewed.
They said that the inspection would be headed by Chairman NED Department of Urban Planning and Infrastructure Engineering, Shabbar Ali, who, under the directives of the DCO, would also look after initiation process of low-cost projects. They said that inspection has already begun of Shaheed-e-Millat Road and Jinnah Bridge and is in its final stages, while that of ICI Bridge, Nagan Chowrangi and New Preedy Street will start soon. They also said that Mauripur Road, falling under the National Highway Authority, would be inspected shortly.
