OGDCL Officers Association and CBA (Mazdoor Ittehad Union) office bearers have expressed their solidarity and determination against coward attack on OGDCL convoy in Dera Murad Jamali on Thursday and landmine blast on OGDCL vehicle at Pathar Nala Dera Bugti in which two employees of OGDCL died and several injured yesterday in a meeting held at OGDCL Head Office, Islamabad on Friday.
Addressing the employees MD/CEO OGDCL Muhammad Naeem Malik said that OGDCL employees would not surrender for such acts of terrorism and barbarianism against OGDCL employees or the country. OGDCL employees are united and determined to change fate of the country to explore new oil and gas resources in far-flung areas of the country.
He said that some evil forces do not want that OGDCL should continue its operational activities in hydrocarbon proven areas in the country. OGDCL being national oil company realises its role and responsibilities to meet energy requirements of the country for which all sacrifices would be made in the larger interest of the nation.
He said that OGDCL officers and staff should work enthusiastically to defeat coward designs of the miscreants and enemies of the country. The purpose of such attacks on the OGDCL convoy and vehicles is to discourage and frustrate OGDCL employees engaged in exploration and production of oil and gas. He said that he would not shelve those projects started in the national interest even if he has to give his life to safeguard interest of the country.
He further assured that OGDCL management would stand by its employees in all such critical situations and their families would be looked after and supported properly. Their children education would be supported by OGDCL. He said that children of such employees would be provided jobs in the company as soon as they complete their education. He appreciated and thanked OGDCL officers associations and CBA representatives for their whole-hearted support to the management to continue OGDCL operations in the risky areas.
He especially thanked Chaudhry Muhammad Akram President CBA and General Secretary Muhammad Aqleem Khan and all CBA office bearers for this unconditional support. He also thanked President Officers Association Saeed Aslam Malik and other office bearers of Officers Associations for showing their solidarity with the Management.
Earlier, Saeed Aslam Malik, President OGDCL Officers Association emphasised that we should safeguard the interest of OGDCL as it was the only profit earning organisation of the country and have the potential to change fate of the nation. He said that it is a high time that we should identify black sheep among our ranks who are trying their level best to demoralise the OGDCL officers and workers to stop their work. He committed that OGDCL's officers would support the management and Mohammad Naeem Malik MD/CEO for his dedicated and sincere efforts to explore oil and gas in remote areas and his bold steps in the larger interest of the country. He added that we are the soldiers of the management and all possible assistance and co-operation would be provided to achieve E&P targets even in worst situations.
Muhamamd Aqleem Khan, General Secretary, CBA assured that OGDCL workers would not be terrorised and horrified by such act of cowardness of attacking OGDCL's convoys and landmine blast of OGDCL's vehicle. He said that OGDCL workers had been always on the forefront and faced such critical situations to stop exploration activities. He said that we would continue to sacrifices our lives for our nation to meet energy requirements of the country. He saluted Muhammad Anwar, Bugan Bugti and other fellows who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the company. He assured the management for their unconditional support and co-operation to strengthen their hands for exploration of oil and gas in the hard areas of the country. He added that OGDCL workers would always stand by the management even at the risks of their lives for prosperity and well being of the company.-PR
