The Lahore High Court here Friday restrained Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) from taking any adverse action against its two employees and sought reply from the chairman in this regard. A deputy secretary of the board Shuja Ali Bokharhi and deputy administrator Asif Raza Sheikh had filed petition challenging their transfer orders issued by ETPB chairman despite an assurance made earlier before the court in this regard.
The petitioners, through their counsel, submitted that their writ petition was disposed off after an assurance on behalf of the respondent that the impugned orders had been withdrawn. However, they continued that the respondent, in order to penalise the petitioners and others, managed to get an order from the federal government, whereby he was empowered to review the already held meetings of departmental promotion committee in the year 2010.
The decisions in these meetings had already been duly approved, notified and acted upon and the petitioners had been promoted accordingly. They therefore prayed that the respondents be restrained from holding any fresh meeting of DPC for the purpose of reviewing the already approved/notified promotion of the petitioners and other employees.
