On the launching day of anti-encroachment operation, the City District Government Lahore (CDGL) demolished encroachments and cleared the 30-km encroached area in all the nine towns of the provincial capital here on Friday. In all nine Town Municipal Administrations (TMAs), the enforcement staff started the operation in their respective areas to demolish the illegal structures.
Every TMA had an enforcement staff of 60 to 70 people, including civil defence officials and police personnel. During the operation, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of the concerned TMA also accompanied the anti-encroachment squad. The enforcement staff had demolished 94 shops, 602 ramps, 343 shades, 272 stairs and 256 sign boards besides they also confiscated stuff during the first day drive against the encroachers.
