Six tour operators from the private sector of Pakistan along-with the tourism department of Gilgit-Baltistan are participating in the world's biggest travel trade show ITB - 2011 in Berlin this year, said a press release received here on Friday. Ambassador of Pakistan to Germany, Shahid Kamal inaugurated Pakistani pavilion, situated along the ancient trade 'Silk Road' at the main exhibition hall.
Talking to Pakistani tour operators on the occasion, Kamal said that there is a need for active marketing of Pakistan's beautiful landscape and ancient civilisations to attract tourists from around the world. He urged the operators to launch campaigns and participate in tradeshows to attract tourists.
He observed that exhibitions like Berlin travel show provide an excellent platform to showcase and enhance business opportunities for the country. Over 12,000 exhibitors from over 100 countries are participating in the trade fair, which is expected to pull around 400,000 visitors from the tourism, travel, and hoteling industry during the next five days.-PR
