Those who attended the meeting included Makhdoom Amin Fahim, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Senator Mian Raza Rabbani, Faryal Talpur, Nisar Khuhro, Syed Naveed Qamar, Nabeel Gabol, Senator Islamuddin Shaikh, Aijaz Jakhrani, Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq, Dr Zulfiqar Mirza, Syed Ali Nawaz Shah, Fouzia Wahab, Murad Ali Shah, Manzoor Wassan, Hari Ram Kishorilal and Syed Najmi Alam. Spokesperson to the President Farhatullah Babar said that the meeting took stock of the current political situation in the country in general and in the province in particular.
He said that the Co-chairman asked the members of the PPP Committee on the proposed All Parties Conference (APC) of the parties having representation in the Parliament, to step up the process of consultation with political parties for holding the conference at an early date.
The Co-chairman said that the present political situation demanded that a meaningful and broad-based consultation with all political parties was held at the earliest.
The meeting decided that the process of reconciliation would continue and doors would remain open for all parties in the Parliament for a broader and deeper political reconciliation.
Babar said that the meeting reposed full confidence in the leadership of the party Co-chairman and authorised him to talk to all the political parties represented in the Parliament for arriving at a consensus on major issues being faced by the country.
