The Karachi Port handled 155,807 tonnes of cargo including 109,579 tonnes of import cargo, 46,228 tonnes of export cargo and 5,424 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 109,579 tonnes comprised of 39,444 tonnes of containerised cargo; 677 tonnes of general cargo; 9,744 tonnes of bulk cargo: 6,000 tonnes of coal; 2,140 tonnes of rock phosphate; 1,604 tonnes of sulphur and 59,714 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 46,228 tonnes comprised of 33,282 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,401 tonnes of general cargo; 8,845 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,734 tonnes of cement and 6,085 tonnes of wheat; 1,026 tonnes of rice and 2,700 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Eight ships namely Ginga Lanner, Ocean Friend, Kota Akbar, OEL Shreyas, Jasper Arrow, Integrity, Fatahur Rahman and MOL Success with chemicals, coal, containers, ESTL, two vehicles carriers, wheat and containers sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Eight vessels viz Kota Akbar, OEL Shreyas, Sea Tiger-1, New Kegand Sun, Integrity, Al-Shuwaikh, Laconia and Chemstar King carrying two container ships, sulphur, cement, vehicles, cattle, canola seeds and ethanol respectively are currently at the berths.
Two ships namely New Activity and Hyundai Freedom carrying crude oil and containers respectively expected to sail on Tuesday, while five ships namely Thana Bhum, YM Europe, Shayan-1, Chemstar King and Wan Hai-603 with three container ships, ethanol and containers respectively are expected to sail on Wednesday.
Two vessels viz Sorrelle and APL Cyprine carrying LSDO and containers respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while five vessels viz Sky Dream, Adventure, Lodestar Genesis, Cap George and Tim-S with base oil, jet oil, chemicals and two container ships respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM
The Port Qasim handled 94,781 tonnes of cargo includes 76,963 tonnes of import cargo, 17,818 tonnes of export cargo and 2,333 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours. The total import cargo of 76,963 tonnes includes 30,360 tonnes of diesel oil; 6,800 tonnes of palm oil; 6,098 tonnes of urea; 11,355 tonnes of iron ore and 22,350 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 17,818 tonnes includes 1,353 tonnes of wheat; 3,535 tonnes of cement; 2,814 tonnes of rice and 10,116 tonnes of containerised cargo. Three ships namely MT Siglo Hav, MV Ina Lotte and CV Maersk Montana sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while two more ships namely MT Chem Bulk Tortola and MT Al-Salam-II are expected to sail on Tuesday afternoon.
A total number of seven vessels viz CV Maersk Montana, MV Alfa Nourios, MV Saphire-II, MT Sound Future, MT Haina Golden, MT Chem Bulk Tortola and MT Al-Salam-II are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, urea, iron ore, palm oil and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Nine ships namely Nedlloyd Hudson, MSC Rafila, NYK Kia, Akaki, Al-Khalidia, Quetta, Four Nabucco, Hyang Ro Bong, and Xin Xiang Hai carrying containers, furnace oil, rice and urea respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of four vessels viz CV Ibn Asakir, CV UASC Shuwaikh and Xin Xiang Hai scheduled to load/offload containers and rice respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Tuesday. Two ships namely CV Ikaruga and CV CMA CGM Chopin are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Wednesday.
