The annual Sports Day 2011 of Dawood Public School held at NCC Ground Karachi on Wednesday. Around 1600 girls students of school participated in Mass PT displays, yoga, gymnastic and in several competitions such as tug of war, races, singing, poetry reading and dresses displays.
Former captain of Pakistan cricket team Moin Khan also attended the Sports Day event and shared his appreciation for the girl students. These women icons were chosen for their strength of character, their ability to rise against the odds and persevere in their chosen passions.
A colourful welcome song was presented by the Pre Primary Section. The A Level students also presented a song focusing on the theme Empowerment of Women. The objective of the Sports Day was to build self esteem, discipline, competitive spirit as well as physical skills of the students. It was a wonderful event, which was largely attended by parents of most of the students of DPS, who lauded the performance of the participants. Band, Mass PT displays, Yoga and Gymnastics were the most popular events which captured the attention of everyone.-PR
