The City District Government of Lahore (CDGL) has on Saturday retrieved 58-kanal and 14-marla state land worth Rs 254.6 million from encroachers on the ninth day of its anti-encroachment operation.
The CDGL squads carried out the operation in all nine towns and removed encroachments on a stretch of 21 kilometres, and in the process pulled down 28 illegal shops, 872 ramps, 549 sheds and 190 stairs besides confiscating 260 shop signboards, which exceeded their prescribed parameters. At least 12 truckloads of confiscated goods from the nine towns were shifted to the CDGL godown.
The enforcement squad comprising CDGL revenue officials retrieved 16-kanal state forest land worth Rs 32 million at Rakh Chandra in Shahdara, 39-kanal worth Rs 195 million near Saggian Toll Plaza, 2-kanal and 14-marla agriculture land worth Rs 14 million at Johar Town, and 1-marla and 180 square feet worth Rs 12.5 million at Madina Town, adjacent to Muslim Town Mor.
