A 9-year-old girl was gunned down by a robber in Rawalpindi when people of the area trying to arrest him. The incident took place in Hazara Colony in the jurisdiction of Ganj Mandi Police Station in Rawalpindi on Saturday, police sources said.
They said that two armed robbers started firing when residents of Hazara Colony tried to nab them and one of the shots fired by robbers hit the girl's neck, causing the death. The victim was identified as Laiba, a student of Class 1. The armed robbers managed to escape from the area. Angry people staged a strong protest against the horrible crime and set tires on fire at railway road. Police, after performing autopsy, handed over the girl's body to her parents and lodged an FIR against unnamed accused.
