Well co-ordinated efforts and planned strategy by Islamabad Police and its other wings have yielded better results regarding curbing car-lifting incidents in the Federal Capital. Islamabad Police enhanced patrolling and vigilance at the inner and outer cordon of the capital city to curb car lifting and achieved great success in this regard, said a spokesman of Islamabad Police, here on Saturday.
Deputy Inspector General (Operations), Bani Amin Khan and Senior Superintendent Police Islamabad, Tahir Alam Khan, after receiving instructions from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Wajid Ali Durrani prepared an effective plan for enhancing co-ordination among all operational wings of Islamabad police. Anti Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) recovered a Toyota Corolla car (ICT QW-645), which was stolen from Aabpara and arrested the car thief along with illegal weapon, the spokesman said.
He said that the ACLC team, after getting information about a car theft traced the car and managed to stop it near IJP Road Toll Plaza in Sabzi Mandi Police area. The thieves started firing at police team, however after brief chase, the police team succeeded in overpowering one Sardar Khan son of Jamraz Khan along-with 30 bore pistols and fake number plates. Another car occupant Wajid Afghani managed to escape and police team has been constituted for his arrest, he added.
Wajid Ali Durrani, Bani Amin Khan and Tahir Alam Khan have appreciated the performance of police team who arrested car thief and announced cash prizes as well as commendation certificates for the team. Under the plan, the patrolling teams of all police stations, anti-car lifting cell and Rescue 15 maintain co-ordination with one another and patrol at outer and inner cordon of the district so that the thieves may not sneak in adjoining district after striking at any place in the city.
