Futures open interest up by 7.8 percent

Total open interest at the futures counter increased by 7.8 percent during the outgoing week to Rs 1.46 billion. On the other hand, the futures spreads surged by 301bps on week-on-week basis to 9.1 percent. Trading activities at the futures counter slightly improved by 4 percent on week-on-week basis to 5.9 million shares.
The top-5 scrips at the futures counter constituting 79 percent of the total open interest were POL, ENGRO, LUCK, PSO and MCB.
