Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) on Monday remained undecided to come with clear stance regarding the joint sitting of the Parliament to be addressed by the President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday. The party's parliamentary party met here with JUI-F's chief Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman in the chair to chalk out strategy for President's address to the joint sitting.
The party suggested that the joint opposition in the National Assembly should meet ahead of the presidential address to make common strategy to be adopted during the presidential address. Later briefing media persons, JUI-F's secretary-general Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri said that the party was in contact with opposition parties, adding that Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan had also contacted JUI-F chief and discussed the strategy for President's address.
He said that the opposition parties can meet any time on Tuesday adding that the JUI-F along with rest of the opposition parties would jointly take a decision in this regard. On Monday, Interior Minister Rehman Malik and Chief Minister Balochistan, Nawab Aslam Raisani also called on JUI-F Chief to seek his party's positive behaviour during President Zardari's address to the parliament.
On the other hand, Chaudhry Shujaat and Salim Saifullah separately contacted Maulana Fazlur Rehman on telephone to discuss the strategy for President's address. Haideri, while replying a question, asked Army Chief to fulfil his constitutional responsibility of defending the borders of the country. "Army should come into action and hit down the drones," he demanded, while condemning the repeated US drone attacks in tribal areas.
