Negative impacts of energy shortage could be minimised with effective management of available resources, said Rana Mushtaq Ahmed, Chairman Load Management Committee of Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) while addressing load management review meeting of Sargodha circle, here on Monday.
He said that demand of electricity is increasing in this region with a much faster pace but electricity resources are squeezing day by day. However, a workable load management schedule would be formulated in consultation with all stakeholders to minimise the negative impact on industrial business and agriculture activities, he added.
Mushtaq said that industry is the man stay of national economy as it provides jobs to millions of youth in addition to earning precious foreign exchange for the country. Our priority is to supply electricity to the industrial units so that it could provide bread to the wage earners. Similarly, electricity would also be provided to the tube wells on top priority basis to increase agriculture production, he maintained. He assured that load management committee would work in complete harmony with all stakeholders without any political or personal interests. In this connection, consumers, Fesco officers and officials should also co-operate with the management committee.
Expressing his views, Hamid Javed, former president FCCI said that load management committee is visiting various circles to asses their problems and take immediate measure to pass on relief to the load shedding hit industry. Asghar Ali Qasir, former MPA said that consumers should co-operate with Fesco in overcoming problems of load shedding by discouraging unwanted use of lights and other electronic gadgets.
