The Egyptian authorities in Cairo, in collaboration with the Embassy in Islamabad are working hard to solve the crisis of the kidnapped Egyptian cargo vessel MV Suez, which was hijacked on August 2, 2010 from the Gulf of Aden, and presently is in Somalia, with its crew members of several nationalities with four Pakistanis.
The Egyptian Ministry of foreign Affairs is now in permanent contact with all concerned parties to save the precious lives of the ship crewmembers and release all of them. They are Egyptians, Pakistanis, Indians, or Sri Lankans. A series of meetings have been held in Cairo recently to co-ordinate the efforts of negotiations to expedite the release of the hostages.
The Owner of the ship, and representative from all concerned authorities were present at these meetings. Moreover, Ansar Burney, the Pakistani former federal Minister for Human Rights, who was in Egypt recently is pursuing his efforts for the release of all the hostages, and is in direct contact with the Egyptian Embassy in Islamabad.
