Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday directed all the federal ministries and departments to ensure the payment of all outstanding dues of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). The Prime Minister has directed all the relevant Ministries/Departments to take following actions:
Parent Ministries of the defaulting departments /organisations to ensure payment of the outstanding dues to PTA. If required, they may seek supplementary grant from the Ministry of Finance for the purpose. All Ministries/Organisations, utilising spectrum under PTA license, shall ensure that funds will be made available in future through regular budget allocation under appropriate head of accounts. PTA will be authorised to cancel the license and withdraw spectrum forthwith if default persisted for two consecutive years.
