KARACHI: Sindh Rangers on Friday claimed to have arrested 13 alleged criminals, including five members of political parties, in different targeted raids in the metropolis.
A statement issued by Rangers’ spokesperson said that the Rangers conducted a targeted raids in Bilal Colony, North Karachi’s industrial Area, Brigade and Gizri areas and apprehended five political parties members, Muhammad Aqeel, Ekramuddin, Syed Hassan, affiliated with MQM-London, and Muhammad Hamad and Manwar, affiliated with MQM Haqiqi.
They were allegedly involved in target killing, extortion, wall-chalking, drug peddling, and several crimes, said statement. Separately, the paramilitary force carried out raids in Darakshan and Gizri areas and detained three drug peddlers, Tuar Gul, Dawood Khan, and Javaid Khan.
The accused were stated to be involved in drug peddling in the areas, the Rangers said. Meanwhile, rangers arrested three suspected criminals, Din Muhammad, Javaid Anwar alias Chota Pakwan, and Muhammad Akmal from North Karachi and Korangi areas. A Rangers party also arrested two street criminals, Nadeem and Hamidur Rahman, involved in several street crimes.
They also claimed to have recovered weapons, drugs and contraband from their possession.
