Corps Commander, Lieutenant General Muhammad Zahir-ul-Islam conferred awards upon various military officers and Shuhadas in a simple but graceful ceremony, held at Corps Auditorium here on Wednesday. The officers were given Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (military) and Tamgha-e-Basalat by Government of Pakistan on the occasion of the Pakistan Day for rendering meritorious service to the Nation.
The awards of Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (military) are Lieutenant Colonel Afzal Mahmood, Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Razzaq, Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Junaid Khan, Lieutenant Colonel Taseer Ibrahim, Major Tanweer Muhammad Khan, Major Muhammad Ali Pasha, Lieutenant Colonel Masood Akhtar Alvi, Lieutenant Colonel Shamsuddin, Lieutenant Colonel Ashfaq-ur-Rehman, Major Muhammad Rafiq and Major Muhammad Maqsood, Major Muhammad Ashraf, Major Muhammad Siddique, awards of Tamgha-e-Basalat are Major Tauqir Anwar Khan, Captain Fayyaz Ahmad (Shaheed), Havilder Ali Ashar (Shaheed), Havildar Zameer Hussain Shah (Shaheed), Naik Gunner Allah Bux (Shaheed), Naik Ghulam Sarwar (Shaheed), Sapper Ahmad Khan (Shaheed), Sepoy Taj Muhammad (Shaheed), Sepoy Gul Nawaz (Shaheed), Sepoy Taj Muhammad (Shaheed), Sepoy Mushtaq Hussain (Shaheed), Sepoy Taqi Muhammad (Shaheed), Lance Naik Rustam Ali (Shaheed). A large number of senior Armed Forces officers and relatives of award winners attended the ceremony.
