The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) is organising 8th annual sports day at varsity main ground here on Thursday (today) March 24, 2011.
UVAS director sports Rana Muhammad Amjad said the sports day will feature various events including horse dancing, musical chair (guests and staff), tug of war (UVAS students Vs CVAS, Jhang students), 'chatti race' High Jump, 800 Meter Race (Boys), 200 Meter Race (Boys), 100 Meter Race (Girls), 4 X 400 Meter Relay Race (Boys), Javelin Throw (Boys and Girls), 400 Meter Race (Boys), Shot-put (Girls and Boys) Staff Children Race, Discuss Throw (Boys and Girls), Three Leg Race (Girls), Martial Arts presentation. He said the sports activities help healthy body and healthy mind.
UVAS Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Nawaz will inaugurate the annual sports day at 8:30am. Punjab Agriculture and Livestock Minister Malik Ahmad Ali Aulak will be chief at the concluding ceremony from 3pm to 6pm. He will distribute prizes among position holder of various sports games.
Meanwhile the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) is also organising one-week annual spring festival from March 25. To welcome the arrival of spring after winter, the spring gala gets into their full swing in the UVAS. The various competitions including Bait Bazi and Mehfil-e-Mushaira Competition, Qiraat and Naat competition, quiz competition, drama competition, floral an flower arrangement competition will be held to enhance the literary, IQ and various capabilities of the UVAS students.
