'Pakistan, China nuclear co-operation transparent'

China reiterated on Thursday that its civil nuclear co-operation with Pakistan is consistent with international obligations and under the umbrella of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
"As for the nuclear co-operation between China and Pakistan, I would like to stress that in recent years the two countries" have carried out some co-operation in this field, said spokeswoman Jiang Yu in foreign office press briefing.
She made it clear that the co-operation is consistent with our international obligations and subject to IAEA supervision. She pointed out that the co-operation between the two countries has been made transparent for the IAEA. Yu said that countries have the right to peaceful uses of nuclear energy.
