Chief Minister, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has demanded of the federal government for bringing 50 percent cut in the quota of cattle export to Afghanistan to meet the demand of the commodity in the local market. Speaking in the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa here on Thursday, he said that the cut in the export quota would help arrest the price of beef and mutton the local market.
The chief minister said that huge level export of cattle, poultry and frozen meat to the neighbouring Afghanistan is creating shortage of the commodities in the local market. He stressed the need of 50 percent cut in the quota of animals export to Afghanistan, he demanded. He said that the provincial government had issued clear directives to the officials of Food, and Livestock departments for keeping check on the smuggling of cattle to neighbouring Afghanistan. He said that a number of officials involved in such illegal practices have been removed from their positions.
Clarifying the position of the provincial government on the imposition load and unloading in district Bannu, he said that the levy had imposed for a short period of six months under the local government ordinance 2005, saying that the tax was also being implemented in district Kohat and Lakki Marwat as well.
The issue will be resolved shortly as it was under consideration, he maintained and said that the government had also fulfilled the demand of opposition to intact the social welfare organisation Tanzeem-Ul-Sahil Wal Mahroom with extension of three years and increase its budget from 150 to 200 million.
He expressed the view that the Tehsil Municipal Administration had have faced a number of issues and vowed that the government wants to stand TMA on its own feet by removing all hurdles and issues. He expressed the hope that all pending issues would be addressed with the passage of time.
Regarding the martyred compensation package, he said that the government had amended the lengthy and difficult procedure of the disbursement of the package, resulting in the resolution of the sixth month long process within couple of weeks.
The credit goes to present government to enhance martyrdom package, he said and added that most of sustain and minor injured had compensated. He reiterated that the government top priority is to restore peace and stability in the province,
About unfair distribution of resources amongst MPAs, he said that the government had made no discrimination with elected representatives and extended funds on equal and merit basis.
