Farid Malik, Chief Operating Officer/General Manager of Lahore Stock Exchange has been reappointed as a Member of the Board of Privatisation Commission by the Federal Government. He has already been on the PC Board for quite some time and brings the capital markets related experience to the proceedings of the Commission.
It may be mentioned that following the approval of the 18th Constitutional Amendment, and the appointment of Naveed Qamar as the Minister of Privatisation, the government had not only decided to revamp the Board but has also made it a priority to kick start the process of privatisation. It is in this background that the Privatisation Commission has announced a new schedule of privatisation through the stock markets-a policy option strongly advocated by Farid Malik as being the most transparent method of privatisation.-PR
