Be it Apple or Samsung, Coke or Pepsi, big companies are always competing against each other in one way or other. This time it’s Elon Musk’s SpaceX vs. Boeing challenging each other for a race to Mars.

CEO of Boeing, Dennis Muilenburg, informed that it is manufacturing a rocket that will reach Mars before rivals like SpaceX. The CEO of SpaceX, Elon Musk, took notice on the social media app, Twitter and challenged them to do it over the social media app, Twitter.

On an interview with CNBC, Muilenberg claimed, “We’re working on that next generation rocket right now with our NASA customers called ‘Space Launch System’. Eventually, we’re going to go to Mars and I firmly believe that first person that sets foot on Mars will get there on a Boeing rocket.”

Elon Musk wins $50m bet by creating largest lithium-ion battery

Boeing is the primary contractor for the first stage of NASA’s Space Launch System designed to put astronauts on deep-space missions using its new Orion aircraft.

Musk had already made claims about building up a colony on Mars and is also manufacturing a reusable megarocket named Big Falcon Rocket. Musk had previously declared that taking human to Mars is amongst his primary goals, which was also the reason he started SpaceX.

As per Boeing, they will have their initial test flight in 2019 by carrying out a mission around the moon.
