The DCO, Karachi, Muhammad Husain Syed has urged the government to release Rs 2 billion allocated under Annual Development Programme (ADP) to City District Government Karachi (CDGK) to complete ongoing development projects.
Speaking at a meeting of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) on Saturday, he expressed fear that the allocated amount will be lapsed if it is not released by June 30, 2011.
He offered to provide machinery including bulldozers, dumpers, etc to carry out cleanliness drive in the industrial area. He said that repair work of Jam Sadique Bridge would soon be started. He further informed that bridges in Malir No 15 and Malir Halt would also be executed in the next budget. He agreed with KATI to hold weekly meetings at KATI office to monitor day to day affairs.
The Chairman, KATI, Syed Johar Ali Qandhari expressed the deteriorating condition of the economy due to ever-increasing lawlessness in the city, skyrocketing utilities' price and poor infrastructure. He demanded of the CDGK to establish a separate hydrant in Korangi Industrial Area to provide water to the industries located at the tail end.
