Fifteen leftist rebels with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) have been killed in clashes with security forces, President Juan Manuel Santos said Saturday. The guerrillas were killed in fighting in south-western Colombia, Santos said. On Thursday 10 alleged FARC guerrillas were killed and three wounded in clashes in a mountainous region in western Colombia, local military officials said.
The FARC is the country's oldest and largest guerrilla force, believed to have some 8,000 members. The group has been at war with the government for 46 years.
