At least four persons including an activist of Dawat-e-Islami, were killed in separate incidents of violence at various parts of the metropolis here on Monday. According to details, an activist of Dawat-e-Islami 43-year-old Asghar Ali Atari son of Shahab Uddin was gunned down in Mawach Goth within the limits of Maripur police station.
The victim, who was the resident of Mawach Goth, was targeted when he was going to home on his car (ADY-682) at SPARCO road near Mawach Goth. Resultantly he sustained fatal bullets wounds and died on spot. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for post-mortem. Police confirmed that victim was the member of Dawat-e-Islami. No case was registered till filing of this report.
Yet another, slaughtered bodies of eloped couple were found in the bushes near Hub River Road in the limits of Sarjani police station. The identity of the victims was yet to be ascertained, while police found these bodies in the bushes at Hub River Road near Hamdard University in Gaddap Town. Police said that unidentified culprits, who kidnapped the victims and then slaughtered, threw their bodies in the bushes and escaped.
They said the girl was in early twenties while the boy was in mid twenty and added that they might be murdered on account of honour killing. The bodies were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico legal formalities and later moved to Edhi Morgue for identifications. Needless to mention, an eloped couple, who got married in Shangla on October 12, 2010, was murdered in Bin Qasim Town some two days ago.
In another incident, a man was crushed to death at Baloch Para in the jurisdiction of Site B area police station. The victim, whose identity was yet to be ascertained, was hit by speedy truck (TKX-190) while crossing the road at Baloch Para. Police had arrested the truck driver Sami Ullah and impounded his vehicle. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) and later moved to Edhi Morgue for identification. Police have also registered a case against driver and further legal proceedings are in progress.
