The Syndicate University of Sindh has appointed new chariperpersons of the various teaching departments of the University. The decision was taken in the 178th meeting of the Syndicate under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Nazir A Mughal. The meeting discussed and recommended annual report of year 2009-2010 for the approval of the Senate.
The meeting also approved the change of nomenclature of Research Associate as Teaching Assistant and enhanced honorarium from Rs 10000 and fixed Rs 15000 per month. The syndicate approved the appointment of Professor Dr Azra Kandhar as Chairperson of the Department of International Relations, Professor Dr Marhab Qasmi Chairperson of the Department of Economics and Professor Dr Nasreen Memon Chairperson Department of Zoology.
The meeting constituted a high powered committee to initiate inquiry against the irregularities and poor quality of construction work of the Postgraduate and Undergraduate girls hostels. The meeting also approved Rs 200 as incentive for the trained Security Guards of the University and decided that their performance will be monitored and recorded at campus security office.
The meeting was attended by newly appointed Pro Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Jamshoro, Dr Parveen Shah, Professor Emeritus Dr Haji Mahmood Memon, nominee of Higher Education Commission Dr Sarosh Hashmat Lodi, MPA Sindh Dr Sikandar Ali Shoro, nominee of Secretary Education Sindh Ms Aftab Inayat, Dr Abdullah Dayo, elected representatives of Teachers Dr Anwar Ali Shah Syed Abdul Ghaffar Shah, Khalid Noor Panhwar, Intizar Lashari and Registrar Dr Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro.
