The Lahore High Court here Monday sought reply from Lahore Development Authority (LDA) till April 15 in an application seeking stay of auction of 26 shops and restaurant in Park and Ride Plaza, at Liberty Market. A bar member Azhar Saddique and shop owners Mohammad Saleem and others had moved a petition against construction of this plaza. These petitioners now said that the construction of plaza was illegal as it was constructed on the recreational parkland.
The counsel said that this action was based on mala fide intent to deprive the petitioner shopkeepers, which is illegal and unconstitutional. He, therefore, prayed to the court too restrain the proposed auction of 26 shops and a restaurant till decision of the petition.
