Pakistan is standing at 87th position in information technology across the globe while India has secured 43rd position so that the said industry demands special intention of our government to boost economy.
This was stated by speakers at a workshop titled "Computer Technology Development and Management" organised by the Department of Computer Sciences, University of Agriculture Faisalabad in collaboration with IT Board, Azad Jammu and Kashmir. UAF Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad was the chief guest on the occasion.
The vice chancellor said that the development of any country is not possible without the enhancement in IT in this era that is called "computer world". He said that due to this invention, the world has become a global village. He said that the information technology has played an important role in the field of agriculture as it is used from land analysis to matured crops.
Professor Dr Iqrar urged the teachers to equip themselves with information technology to utilise it for promotion of education in the region. He called for acquiring the latest technology and learning its utilisation in education sector. He said we can't remain in isolation and ought to have the knowledge of latest technology. He stressed the need to implement the help of information technology in the field of agriculture.
