Text Books not available: new session of secondary schools to start from April 4

New session of secondary schools will start from 4th April 2011. The Sindh Text Book Board (STBB) has not yet been able to print textbooks. A survey of Urdu Bazaar shows not a single seller has any textbook available with them. It is a regular practice of STBB to send books late to the market, a seller stated.
Parents are worried how to cope with the situation as their children need to start studies from beginning of the session. A reliable source of the board on the condition of anonymity inform this scribe that board had not yet started the process of printing the books and the task is right now with the paper-purchasing department. The source further informed that board authorities are now- a- days busy with the distribution of free books in the public sector schools. After finishing the process of distribution they would focus their attention to this relevant problem. The books would not be available in the market before the end of May.
