A citizen has approached the Lahore High Court praying to the court to order an inquiry into a 'conspiracy' hatched about the cricket match between India and Pakistan. The petitioner, Muhammad Irfan Mukhtar, through his counsel Azhar Siddique, contended that the way Pakistan team "surrendered" to India indicated that the match was a fixed tie and 'cricket diplomacy' was initiated under a conspiracy.
The WikiLeaks reports, which aired through the SMS, had claimed that it was predetermined that India batting first would make a score of 260 runs, in the course of which it would lose three to four wickets in 25 overs and five wickets at reaching 150, and Pakistan would lose the match by 20 runs. The petitioner contended the whole nation had been deeply hurt by the defeat of the Pakistani team as such, and that a probe may be ordered through the FIA, NAB to look into the facts.
