The Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Friday adjourned to April 19 the hearing of a petition seeking recovery of missing doctor Abdullah of Jinnah hospital. On Friday, a federal law officer told the court that, as Ali Abdullah's case had been referred to Judicial Commission for missing people and its meeting is scheduled for April 13.
Meanwhile, the court reprimanded SP CIA Umar Virk for coming late to the court. The court observed that if judges could start work at 8 am why he should not do so. The court warned him to remain careful otherwise contempt proceedings might initiate against him. The court is hearing a habeas corpus petition for the recovery of Dr Ali Abdullah from alleged custody of ISI.
Dr Sarfraz father of the detainee filed the petition for recovery of his son Dr Ali Abdullah allegedly taken into custody by ISI. However, the premier intelligence agency assured the court that Dr Ali Abdullah was neither in its custody nor he was wanted to it in any case. Petitioner submitted in his petition that his son Dr Ali Abdullah worked in Jinnah Hospital and was missing for many days. He alleged that personnel of secret agencies abducted him when he was on his way to home from the hospital.
