Federal Finance Minister Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh said on Sunday that the government was trying its level best to burden the people as low as possible and give them some relief, after consultation with the leadership of all political parties of the country.
Talking to the media after the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) delegation called on him and Interior Minister Rehman Malik here, he said that MQM has been assured of reviewing the hike in petroleum products prices.
The MQM delegation was led by Dr Farooq Sattar, flanked by ministers. While talking to media he said that MQM had asked the federal ministers to review the recent hike in petroleum prices as the public is unable to bear this additional burden. Interior Minister said that the people should understand the difficult situation faced by the government.
