The National Bank of Pakistan on Tuesday launched a vocational training programme for the females in Dar-ul-Aman, situated in Mandia, Abbottabad. The programme launched under the aegis of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) wing of National Bank of Pakistan with the aim to provide opportunity to the females to get vocational training in the Dar-ul-Aman and earn livelihood.
Tabriz Hassan Butt, Regional Head was the chief guest on the occasion. Other present on the occasion were Sohail Akhtar, GM Operation, Nasir Khan, GM Business, Basit Kamal, CSR Co-ordinator and representatives of the Daru-ul-Aman, Mandia, Abbottabad. Representatives of the District Government and other participants were also present. Butt said that being a nationalised bank the NBP took the initiative of providing skill training to the females, who have no sources of earning.
He said after the completion of the vocational training programme, the commissioner Abbottabad would be invited to distribute sewing machines among the trainees. He underscored the importance of vocational training programme carried out by CSR wing of the NBP across the country including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Butt also lauded former Test cricketer Iqbal Qasim, who is head of the CSR wing, for taking quick decision soon after completing his visit regarding CSR activities.
He disclosed that Iqbal Qasim himself visited the Dar-ul-Aman and by returning back, formally announced launching of vocational training programme for underprivileged females. He said the bank has always stood by its people in testing time as it has a key role in the earthquake and during the time of devastated flood that hit Khyber Pakhtunkhwa very badly. The NBP also organised medical camps with distribution of free medicines and tons of edible goods among the flood affected people lived in the IDPs camps.
