Lyari Resource Center (LRC) would help change perception about Lyari in the minds of the people, Ashiq Moin Abbasi Assistant Town Officer Lyari said here on Tuesday. LRC is a center where people can submit their complaints and get help for enhancing their skills. The center was established only three months ago. LRC basic aims are to help people polish their skills and increase their education.
LRC has a sports section where Lyari's youth took part in healthy activities. Recently Afghanistan and Turkey football teams had visited and played matches with the Lyari football team. LRC has started education classes for ladies. Amazingly a huge number of women folk participated in the programme.
LRC is helping to renovate the already established government schools and would provide voluntary teachers to over come the shortage of teachers. LRC is motivating NGOs and other organisations to come into Lyari and establish their camps. Recently a TB camp was set up in the area.
A technical school for boys and an industrial home for girls was also providing help to the youths of Lyari. Drugs and narcotics are the major problems of the Lyari but we are hopeful that the area would become a nursery of talent, Ashiq Moin Abbasi concluded.
