Assembly Members belonging to various districts met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif at Chief Minister's Secretariat here Wednesday and informed him about the ongoing development projects and problems of the people of their respective areas.
Talking to elected representatives, the Chief Minister said that Punjab government is utilising huge resources for raising the living standard and provision of education, health and other basic facilities to the masses. He said that development schemes are being executed on priority basis in less-developed areas to bring them at par with the developed ones.
He said that the project of setting up Danish Schools equipped with modern educational facilities has also been started from South Punjab. He said that Danish Schools have been inaugurated in Rahim Yar Khan, Hasilpur and Chishtian while Danish Schools in Attock, Mianwali, Rajanpur and DG Khan will also be set up this year. He said that Danish Schools will not only improved literacy rate in these areas but will also open up new avenues of progress in these regions. He said that Danish Schools have materialised the dream of the poorest students to have modern educational facilities.
He said that extremism can be overcome by promotion of education, therefore, Punjab government is implementing a comprehensive plan for equipping the youth with the latest knowledge. He said that setting up of Danish Schools, IT labs, Punjab Educational Endowment Fund and promotion of vocational education are important steps in this direction. He said that Assembly Members should play an active role for timely completion of development schemes and utilise all their energies for solution of people's problems.
