A division bench of the Lahore High Court here Wednesday while seeking reply from National Accountability Bureau (NAB) within three weeks in a petition seeking court directions for release of documents of his car observed that NAB should remain within its parameters determined by law. The bench further observed that no one would be given free hand to take illegal actions.
The petitioner Saulat Munir through his counsel Azhar Siddique contended that he had submitted documents of his corolla car with PICIC now NIB bank in September 2009. Later NAB arrested bank manager Abdul Khaliq in a fraud case and also took his car's documents along with them. He contacted NAB for return of his documents but got cold shoulder.
Azhar pointed out that Khaliq moved a Superdari (handing over) application to get documents. However court dismissed his application and hence he approached LHC. He argued that NAB illegally possessing his documents for two and half years, creating problems for him, as he was unable to use his car.
