The Provincial Transport Authority (RTA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday issued new revised fare rates to increase transport fares on both inter-provincial and inter-city routes in proportion to recent increase in the price of diesel.
The authority has directed all secretaries of Regional Transport Authorities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to ensure display of new fare list at visible places in General Bus Stands at their jurisdiction and inside passenger vehicles for information of transporters and passengers.
It has further directed that the violating transporters and drivers will be brought to book under intimation to their office. Similarly, the existing concession of 50 percent in the actual fare allowed to the students of educational institutions, Deeni Madaris, blind/disabled persons and the passengers above the age of 60 years shall continue as usual. However, in case the air-conditioned system is not working in air-conditioned vehicles, then fares of deluxe stage carriage bus would be charged.
According to new fare tables, Peshawar-Mardan fare for flying coaches/mini buses, and AC buses, will be Rs 62/64 and Rs 74/24, respectively. Likewise Peshawar-Mingora Rs 185/76 and Rs 220/16, Peshawar-Swabi Rs 128/5 and Rs 152/32 Peshawar-Cahrsadda Rs 29/16 and Rs 34/56, Peshawar-Bannu Rs 207/36 and Rs 245/76, Peshawar-D.I.Khan Rs 362/88 and Rs 430/08, Peshawar-Kohat Rs 70/20 and Rs 83/20, Peshawar-Hangu Rs 111/24 and Rs 131/84, Peshawar-Dir Rs 270/- and Rs 320/- Peshawar-Haripur Rs 168/48 and Rs 199/68, Peshawar-Abbottabad Rs 208/44 and Rs 247/04 and Peshawar-Mansehra as Rs 234/36 and Rs 277/76 respectively.
Moreover, the new revised fare rates on inter provincial routes between Mingora-Rawalpindi for ordinary non-AC mini buses will be Rs 238/60, Abbottabad-Rawalpindi as Rs 103/94, Mansehra-Rawalpindi Rs 129/86, Peshawar-Rawalpindi Rs 140/00 and Mardan-Rawalpindi Rs 116/68.
The fares of Deluxe Non -AC buses for Peshawar-Faisal Abad will be charged as Rs 397/23, Peshawar-Multan Rs 628/89, Mingora-Lahore Rs 427/92, Peshawar-Sargodah Rs 286/30 and Peshawar-Lahore as Rs 331/10. Likewise, the AC buses will charge the new revised fare for Peshawar -D.I.Khan as Rs 430/08, Peshawar-Abbottabad Rs 247/04, Peshawar -Mingora Rs 220/16 and Peshawar-Mansehra Rs 277/76 respectively. All the concerned transporters have further been directed to charge the notified fares and in case of charging excess fares, strict action shall be initiated against the violators.
