The Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) has chalked out a comprehensive plan to induce the small and medium enterprises of the Punjab province to list on the Exchange. The LSE Managing Director Aftab Ahmad Chaudhry while talking to Business Recorder here on Wednesday said that there were a good number of SMEs, located in different industrial cities of the province like Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Gujranwala and Gujrat.
Besides meeting the local market demand, most of them are engaged in production of exportable goods and thus fetching substantial amount of foreign exchange to the national exchequer, he said. "With a view to involve more people and promote shares business in the country, we have planned to encourage the private sector entities, particularly those SMEs, which have potential but could not be listed on the stock exchange, would be our target in the current year" he maintained.
