The meeting of the Parliamentary Committee, on confirmation of nomination of Members of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) was held here on Wednesday. The Secretary National Assembly briefed the Committee that the rules for conducting the business of the said Committee do not exist. Therefore, the committee decided to frame rules for conducting its business.
Later, the committee unanimously elected Syed Khursheed Ahmad Shah, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs as convenor of the committee for conducting its proceedings. It was decided to convene meeting of the committee on April 14, 2011 to consider the draft rules of the committee.
The meeting was attended by Senators Islamuddin Sheikh, Haji Muhammad Adeel, Haroon Akthar Khan and MNAs Syed Khurshid Ahmad Shah, Arif Aziz Sheikh, Dr Muhammad Farooq Sattar, Munir Khan Orakzai, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Lieutenant General Abdul Qadir Baloch (Retd), Tehmina Daultana, Engineer Amir Muqam, and Karamat Hussain Niazi, Secretary National Assembly.-PR
