Copper prices rose on Wednesday in London, and Shanghai futures jumped more than 1 percent when the market re-opened after a two-day holiday during which Beijing tightened the monetary policy screws with a 25-point hike in interest rates. The Shanghai Futures Exchange rose 1.5 percent to 71,480 yuan. Aluminium ended 0.5 percent up in Shanghai. Lead rose 3 percent to 19,220 yuan in recently-launched contract in Shanghai.
