Pakistan achieved highest ever monthly exports of $2.5 billion in March 2011. Pakistan's exports during March 2011 stood at $2.497 billion, which was 41.1 per cent higher than the level of $1.77 billion during March 2010. Imports during March 2011 were $3.417 billion registering a growth of 4 per cent against $3.287 billion in March 2010.
Cumulative value of exports for the period July-March 2010-11 was $17.8 billion as against $14.072 billion registering a growth of 26.5 per cent over the same period last year. While, cumulative value of imports for the period July-March 2010-11 was $29.016 billion as against $25.107 billion registering a growth of 15.6 per cent over the same period last year.
It is important to mention here that Chief Executive TDAP has projected that country's exports in 2010-11 would cross the $22 billion mark. Export trend shows that Pakistan export of traditional items would grow by 50 per cent while exports of non-traditional items would grow by more than 30 per cent.-PR
