Services of all contractual medical practitioners to be regularised: Prime Minister policy statement in National Assembly
Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani while giving a policy statement in the National Assembly on Monday said according to law the services of all contractual medical practitioners would be regularised. The Prime Minister told the House that a 3-member committee comprising representatives of the ministry of finance and the Establishment Division headed by federal secretary health had been constituted to work out the details and to improve service structure of health practitioners.
He said the committee would present its report in 15 days. "The government is giving significant importance to improve career structure of doctors. And the new career structure would help improve the basic pay scales of medical practitioners," he added. Gilani announced to improve career structure for the doctors and other health professions. He also expressed the hope that health practitioners would devote all their energies to their profession.
