The meeting of Regional Consultative Group of International Chamber of Commerce for the Middle East North African region will be convened in Amman, Jordan on April 20, 2011 under the theme "identifying regional synergies for global trade and investment".
The meeting is being hosted by Jordanian National Committee of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC Jordan) and chaired by ICC Regional Co-ordinator for Middle East North Africa, Tariq M. Rangoonwala. This is the third meeting to be chaired by Rangoonwala following the first in Sharjah, UAE in 2009 and Damascus, Syria in 2010.
Heads of ICC national committees and secretary generals as well as chamber representatives from 14 Middle East and North African countries will gather in Amman to deliberate on business related international rules to facilitate enhanced foreign direct investment and trade. Representatives from Bahrain, Egypt, Georgia, Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Syria and UAE will be attending this important regional meeting.
The ICC Secretary General and other officials from the ICC Secretariat in Paris will also be present during the deliberations. ICC Jordan chaired by Mohammad Asfour had agreed to host this meeting in Amman, which will be inaugurated by Jordan's Minister of Industry and Trade Dr Hani El-Mulki. The one-day deliberation will cover subjects including arbitration, trade facilitation, ICC rules and publications, regional synergies and effective representation of regional business issues at global decision making forums.-PR
