The Environment Protection Department Punjab (EPD) will celebrate Earth Day 2011 on April 22 by holding a painting and exhibition on recycling among the school children, and arranging a seminar to discuss environmental issues. According to an EPD's spokesperson here on Friday, the department is regularly celebrating the day since 1996. This year the theme of Earth Day 2011 is 'A billion acts of green'.
In this connection, in collaboration with Children Library Complex Lahore, EPD will hold a painting and exhibition. About 50 schools (both public and private sectors) have been invited to participate in the painting competition on environment and display the work carried out by students.
