Davis's name removal from ECL: federal government, provinces again issued notices for April 26

The Lahore High Court here on Friday again issued notices to federal and Punjab governments for April 26 in a petition challenging removal of Raymond Davis's name from Exit Control List (ECL) in violation of court orders. Barrister Javed Iqbal Jaffrey filed the petition requesting the court to seek explanation from the respondent former Federal Law Minister Babar Awan, Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, AD&SJ Muhammad Yousaf Aujla and others for allowing Raymond Davis to leave the country despite LHC restraining orders.
The petitioner submitted that on Davis's release, the LHC order was in placed as the court had not suspended or withdrawn its order.
