The Karachi Port handled 58,268 tonnes of cargo including 31,672 tonnes of import cargo, 26,596 tonnes of export cargo and 1,824 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 31,672 tonnes comprised of 13,186 tonnes of containerised cargo; 4,783 tonnes of general cargo; 1,703 tonnes of sulphur and 12,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 26,596 tonnes comprised of 9,350 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,536 tonnes of general cargo; 6,297 tonnes of bulk cargo: 4,761 tonnes of cement; 1,536 tonnes of loose bulk cement and 9,413 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Five ships namely Trave Trader, CSL Ride, Al-Saada, Dl Sunflower and Pacific Express with two container ships, base oil, naphtha and general cargo carrier sailed out to sea during the reported period. Eight vessels viz APL Sharjah, TS Jakarta, Bao An Cheng, Admire Coral, Tabernacle Prince, Al-Badiyah, Golden Yuka and Omera Queen carrying two container ships, two general cargo carriers, cement carrier, high speed diesel oil, base oil and crude oil carrier respectively are currently at the berths.
One container ship namely Bao An Cheng expected to sail on Saturday, while five ships namely Golden Yuka, Tarpon Clipper, TS Jakarta, Abtin-1 and Omera Queen carrying oil tanker, general cargo carrier, two container ships and oil tanker respectively are expected to sail on Sunday.
Two vessels viz Al-Mirqab and Ital Onesta with two container ships due to arrive on Saturday, while eight vessels viz Bow Puma, MOL Seabreeze, MSC Peggy, Bunga Raya Lima, APL Amman, Alliance Charleston, Freedom and Arikun with palm oil, four container ships, two vehicle carriers and sand respectively are due to arrive on Sunday. Three ships namely MT Lahore, Adventure and Mitra Bhum with crude oil, jet oil and container ship respectively are due to arrive on Monday.
The total import cargo of 34,810 tonnes includes 13,123 tonnes of diesel oil; 5,200 tonnes of palm oil; 110 tonnes of project cargo and 16,380 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 18,430 tonnes includes 3,957 tonnes of cement; 1,306 tonnes of wheat and 13,776 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Edible oil vessel viz MT Global Challenge sailed out to sea on Saturday morning, while five more ships namely CV Anvil Point, CV Glory, CV MSC Magali, MV War Now Sun and MV BBC Nord Land are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of nine vessels viz CV Anvil Point, CV Glory, CV MSC Magali, MV Wales-II, MV Orient-III, MV War Now Sun, MV BBC Nord Land, MT Global Challenge and MV Genmar Compatriot are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, project cargo, palm oil and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Diesel oil carrier namely MT Al-Soor-II is currently at the outer anchorage. A container vessel viz CV Angles due to arrive on Saturday, while another container vessel viz CV Maersk Missouri is due to arrive at Port Qasim on Sunday.
