At least three more persons including the activists of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) lost their lives in the unabated targeted killings at various parts of the metropolis here on Monday. According to details, an activist of MQM was gunned down at Rizwan Society Gulshan Iqbal in the jurisdiction of Sacchal police station.
The victim 28-year-old Mirza Imran Baig alias Immi son of Naseem Baig, a resident of Rizwan Society, was targeted by two armed riders at Block 7 of Gulshan Iqbal when he was on the way to home from eatery on his car. Resultantly he received multiple gunshots and succumbed to his injuries in a private hospital. Police said the victim, who was the resident of Blessing Apartments, associated with MQM chapter 33-D of Gulshan Maymar. Police said the victim was hit by two bullets of 30-bore pistol.
After the incident, tension gripped entire locality where all shops and markets were closed due to heavy aerial firing while the unidentified miscreants also torched a passenger bus at Saachal area. No case was registered till filing of this report.
In another incident, an activist of PPP was killed while the other was injured in a targeted killing incident at Orangi town near Tehzeeb Kabab House in the limits of Pakistan Bazaar police station. According to eyewitnesses, two armed men reached on motorcycle sprayed indiscriminate bullets at Tehzeeb Kabab House located in sector 15-B of Orangi Town.
Resultantly, a 53-year-old Asghar alias Pakistani alias Bihari son of Habib and Ahmed Ali, 28 son of Mohammad Hussain sustained bullets wounds while Asghar succumbed to his injuries on the spot. After committing the crime, the unidentified shooters managed to flee from the scene in leaps and bounds while police shifted them to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico legal formalities and medical treatment.
Meanwhile, the sources in ASH said Asghar was hit by a single bullet penetrated in his heart, while they described the condition of the other as out of danger. Police said the victim, a resident of same area and a father of ten, was an active worker of PPP.
A youth was shot dead near Lal Flats Gulshan Iqbal in the limits of Gulistan Jauhar police station. The identity of victim was yet to be ascertained, while police found his body near Lal Flats Gulshan Iqbal. Police said the victim, who received one bullet each on his head and chest wore pant and shirt and appeared to be Pukhtoon. His body was transported to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico legal formalities and later moved to Edhi Morgue. Meanwhile, police registered a case against unidentified men on the complaint of state and initiated probe in this connection.
